Casa San Carlo is located in central Italy, in Umbria, right on the border with Tuscany. Once there was just a ruin here, surrounded by olive trees, vineyards and farmland. Now you will find a beautiful holiday home of 650 m2 with breathtaking views that never bore you.  All our guests who arrive at our place and walk onto the terrace immediately say: 'Unbelievable, how far you can see!'

At the front of the house you look south-west, towards Tuscany. To the east of Casa San Carlo, you look at the lovely village of Monteleone d'Orvieto, which is 490 metres above sea level.  To the west, you can see the neighbours' houses along our country road, with the impressive Monte Cetona behind them. At sunset, this mountain peak with all the olive trees in the foreground offers a beautiful scene! Even we still find it impressive every day and have been very happy with this unique living and working place for 14 years.

From ruin to holiday home🏡

During the renovation of the original ruin (between 1998 and 2000), the old stones of the ruin were reused for the outer walls and the covered terrace. It is and large villa containing 7 flats, each with its own bathroom and kitchen. Also a very large living room with large fireplace / indoor grill where groups can also use the available kitchen and stay together. A large (partly covered) terrace and a very large swimming pool make it the ideal place to relax and to do many activities together.

Casa San Carlo is located right on the border between Umbria and Tuscany. This makes it a unique holiday destination to enjoy both regions! Umbria stands for authenticity, green hills, natural parks and rugged mountains. Beach lovers visit Lake Trasimeno or Lake Bolsena, just across the border with Lazio.  Culture lovers will enjoy the art and architecture, castles, churches and monasteries in medieval towns like Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Orvieto and Spoleto.
