Cranbrook 1.5 miles.

Golford Cottage is a stunning, pet-friendly, Grade II listed home with a characterful inglenook fireplace, driveway parking, and close proximity to the amenities of Cranbrook, perched in the charming village of Golford, Kent.

This picturesque property provides a perfect retreat for families, friends, or couples looking to explore the beauty of the Kent countryside while enjoying all the comforts of a traditional English cottage.

Step inside this home to discover a wealth of character, including exposed beams and real fires to cosy up by, whilst admiring the contemporary touch, seamlessly bringing the decor into the 21st century without losing charm or history.

The well-equipped kitchen/diner is perfect for preparing and enjoying delicious meals together, while the dining room with a woodburning stove offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for memorable dinners, with a chaise lounge and patio doors that lead out to the lawned garden, where you can soak up the tranquillity of the countryside.

Relax in the sitting room with a film on the TV or a book in hand.

If you prefer to break away from the group, a reading nook on the first floor provides a quiet escape for book lovers.

With six inviting bedrooms to choose from, including a king-size room with Jack-and-Jill access to the bathroom, two double rooms, a twin room, a ground-floor twin, and a single room complete with a desk for working from home, there is ample space for everyone to relax and unwind.

The Jack-and-Jill bathroom boasts a luxurious corner bath, a walk-in shower, and an LED mirror, while the ground-floor shower room provides extra convenience for guests.

Explore the picturesque village of Sissinghurst, where you can stock up on the essentials at the local shop or pop out to the pub for an evening tipple; during the day, visit the stunning Sissinghurst Castle Garden, renowned for its vibrant and meticulously tended landscapes.

Discover the craftsmanship of yesteryear at the historic Cranbrook Union Windmill, a perfect addition to your itinerary, with plenty more amenities in the town should you need them.

Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of a variety of scenic walks, including the tranquil paths of Roundshill Park Wood, the expansive Sissinghurst Estate, the scenic Crane Valley, and the lush Hemsted Forest, each offering the chance to immerse yourself in the beautiful Kent countryside.

Please note that the road immediately outside our cottage is a national speed limit rural road with grass verges but not pavements; we recommend planning for a short drive to start your walk, rather than setting out directly from the cottage.

Additionally, you’ll find yourself within easy reach of the breathtaking views and natural wonders of the High Weald National Landscape, making Golford Cottage a superb base for exploring all that the area has to offer.

Golford Cottage truly offers a perfect blend of historic charm and home comforts for your Kent countryside retreat.

A large property with just about everything we could have wanted. Clean and tidy with lots of facilities. Clear instructions and good guest book with lots of extra information about the area. A very minor thing is that a few extra bits of cutlery would be useful. Very responsive and helpful owners. Great value.
