market on Saturday doubles as a way to immerse yourself in Tuscan life.

Gelataria di Castellina.) With San Gimignano, Siena and Florence within
easy reach, too, you’re spoilt for choice for days out.
Poggio Tondo has an unusual design, more like a mountain house than a
typical Tuscan villa. Its layout is distinct, too. While the three
bedrooms are tucked upstairs, there is also a huge lounge-diner and a
fully equipped kitchen on both levels. This handy configuration offers
your party of six more space to spread out, yet there is still a
communal feeling to this place.
The obvious space to come together is on one of the generous terraces
that extend along the width of the building on each level overlooking
the lush lawn. This is where you’ll be able to pull up a front-row seat
for the main event – the view. They stretch right across Chianti to
Siena shimmering on the skyline. It’s just beckoning you to visit.
