Located on the island’s serene northern coast, Ligoneri is prized for its tranquil atmosphere, pine-fringed coastline, and crystalline waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
The beach at Ligoneri is small and uncrowded, offering a relaxing escape with scenic views across the Saronic Gulf.
Just a short distance away is Kounoupitsa, a charming coastal settlement lined with tavernas and seaside cafés, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes right by the water. From Ligoneri, you’re also close to Dapia, the island’s vibrant port and main hub. Here, cobbled streets are filled with boutique shops, historic mansions, and lively cafés. Be sure to visit the Bouboulina Museum, dedicated to the legendary heroine of the Greek War of Independence, and the Spetses Museum, housed in a grand 18th-century mansion.
The area is easily reached by water taxis or horse-drawn carriages—iconic symbols of the island’s unique charm.
Cars are restricted on Spetses, preserving its calm, pedestrian-friendly feel. The nearest mainland port is Kosta, just 10 minutes by ferry or water taxi, with connections to Porto Heli and the Peloponnese.
From Athens, you can drive to Kosta in about 2.5 hours or take a Flying Dolphin hydrofoil directly from Piraeus Port (approx. 2 hours). The closest airport is Athens International Airport, making Spetses an accessible yet peaceful destination where timeless Greek island life meets refined elegance. The house was renovated in 2019. It is located in a settlement on a lush green hill with pine trees overlooking the sea and the sunset, above Ligoneri Beach, the most picturesque and quiet beach on the island. It is also suitable for families. At 50 meters, there is a playground and a grocery store. The settlement also has a sports area and a dog park. The nearby Ligoneri Beach is a 5-minute walk away. There is a bus line that connects the settlement with the island’s center—Dapia(from mid june until mid September and usually during Easter)—and the beaches of Vrelos, Ligoneri, Scholes, and Kaiki. The neighborhood is very quiet and completely safe. The house offers relaxation, peace, and rest. Cars are prohibited on the island. Small pets (under15kg) are allowed on the property. You can get around by bicycle, scooter, ATV, taxi, and bus. The island center, Dapia, is 2.5 km away—25 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bus. The studio offers Wi-Fi, a garden, a terrace, and views of the sea and the mountains.
